The door

The Secret

Privacy

In short: no cookies, no name, no email, no account here. The door remembers a device, never a person.

In your browser

A random device key in your browser's local storage keeps you inside, together with your chosen line colour. Clearing your site data removes them.

What the door keeps

Your member number, the kind of key that opened the door, your three gift keys and the member number each one opened for, a scrambled form of each device key, and the date you came in.

Account codes

When you enter your app code, The Secret checks it against that app's own records and keeps only a scrambled form of the account it belongs to — never your email.

The visitor count

The visitor count is like a doorbell in a shop: it only notes that someone came in and knows nothing about you. No cookies. Each day's marks are scrambled and dropped after two days.

Wrong tries

A scrambled form of your connection is kept for one hour, so the door can rest after repeated wrong tries.

Leaving

“Free this device” and “Leave The Secret” delete what they name at once, for good.
